Agents write best when you name the outcome and the decision it supports, not the steps.
- Weak: "Write something about pricing."
- Strong: "A pricing brief comparing our $24 core against the two rivals we lose to — I need to decide whether to raise in Q4."
Three habits that pay off:
1. Name real things — customers, competitors, figures. The agent grounds on your company knowledge plus, for research-capable agents, a live web scan.
2. One ask per message. A follow-up message replaces the open task (the newest ask wins), so stack requests as separate messages, not one paragraph.
3. Answer the clarifier. When an agent asks one question before working, the answer materially changes the document.
If a document comes back with `[to confirm]` markers, that's the agent refusing to invent — add the missing fact in Settings and ask again.
